Eh Iwish?-“Balanda Fu**ers!” - - - Amsterdam’s Old Wood-Haven is now in disuse, but for those of us who are nimble and sure-footed, it’s possible to make it all the way out to the water’s edge, upon what remains of the buttresses from the old wharfs. It gets rather slippery when it rains, and that’s exactly what happened when the heavens opened up later that day. - Of course, it’s very deep water out there. I once spotted a couple of tourists swimming in the water just near the old quay-wall’s edge… what a silly thing to do — in a busy commercial waterway~! When the river-ferry arrived out of nowhere (as one of the chaps surfaced) he spotted it and … what did he do? He dived … again. This time “under” the moving ferry.
